Product Description

Overview:

The Pioneer AVIC-F500BT on-dash navigator offers an advanced, all-in-one solution for adding large-screen navigation, multimedia capability, and hands-free calling to your vehicle — without removing your factory radio. Simply mount this road-ready travel companion on your dashboard and exercise convenient control over your music, phone, and navigation. Pioneer knows that advanced technology doesn't mean a thing if it's not easy to use. The revolutionary Conversational Voice Recognition feature allows you to command your phone and iPod® in normal, everyday speech. You can say, "I need to talk to John Smith at home," and the navigator will dial John Smith's home phone number on your compatible phone. The AVIC-F500BT overlooks mumbles and unclear speech that'll confound lesser voice command systems, and, it will ask for a clarification if it needs additional input, instead of doing nothing. More and more states require hands-free cell phone use — the AVIC-F500BT's built-in Bluetooth technology allows you to dial and receive calls hands-free with your compatible cell phone. A built-in microphone delivers clear voice transmission, and Bluetooth technology from the specialists at Parrot ensures that this navigator will work with more phones and access more features, including automatic phonebook transfer. The AVIC-F500BT features a crystal-clear 5.8" widescreen touch display for displaying high-resolution maps, selecting media, and other options. The sturdy cradle keeps the device in place over rough roads and curves. The left-mounted control knob provides simple access to volume and other functions if needed. You'll find a wide array of options for connecting external sources, including a SecureDigital™ memory card slot, mini-USB input, and and A/V mini-jack. The AVIC-F500BT comes preloaded with detailed maps of the U.S. and Canada, plus approximately 12 million points of interest for finding nearby stops such as restaurants, hotels, shops, and more. Unlike most in-dash receivers, you won't have to mess with map discs for guidance — it's ready for navigation right out of the box. The large screen provides detailed views of your route, and the text-to-speech voice prompts announce the actual road names at turns so you can concentrate on your driving. You'll see 3-D landmark icons that reduce confusion in unfamiliar areas, especially cities. You can even upload custom points of interest to mark favorite spots for further reference. Pioneer includes a receiver for updated reports from MSN Direct, a subscription-based service which offers traffic reports, weather, area gas prices, movie times, local events and headlines, stock prices, and other crucial travel information for many metropolitan areas. The first three months of the subscription are included free — charges apply after the free trial period ends. Pioneer's optional CD-IU200VM adapter allows this on-dash navigator to work with most iPod models. You can also play a wide array of files from various sources — MP3, WMA, WAV and AAC music plus MPEG-4 videos from your USB-equipped device or memory cards. The 'F500BT can also display images from your rear-view camera to let you see what's behind your vehicle for safety. The optional Pioneer ND-G500 4-channel gateway amplifier allows you to feed the navigator's audio directly to your car's speakers so you'll hear voice prompts and Bluetooth phone conversations over your stereo system. The ND-G500 also boosts the power of your factory stereo system, making everything sound better.
